Since 2012, we both have had a yearning to live differently. We desired a life where we were:
immersed in nature
connected to community
surrounded by like-minded creatives
A couple years ago, what began as a 5 week road trip to the West Coast, turned into a revival of dreams long forgotten. Spending this time adventuring and enjoying the natural beauty around us, the dream to live differently began to get louder.
It became a common conversation to ponder the hows, whens, whats.
This past year we toured through BC again, searching for our future home. We went through the Kootenays and slowly made our way to Vancouver Island. We explored many places that left us with two potentials. Would we move to Denman Island or Salt Spring Island?
The conversations continued. And slowly The Dream began to evolve from an idea to something tangible. It was almost as if The Way was dropped into our consciousness. A gift from Source.
Inspired by Our Own Wedding Journey
Our journey into the wedding business began with our own wedding. Planning our special day was a transformative experience that deepened our connection with each other and our loved ones. We found there were limited options available for us being unconventional and all.
It was during this time that we realized how much we loved the process of bringing a unique and personalized wedding vision to life.
We wanted to create a wedding experience that was not only beautiful but also deeply personal and meaningful. Our dream of offering small elopements was born out of the desire to offer couples the same kind of personalized and intimate experience that we had.
The Way was birthed in response to what we discovered in the struggles and the process of planning our own wedding. A number of our friends were experiencing the same process.
We found it difficult to find an aligned venue where we could have a low key celebration with our closest people. We considered secretly eloping to avoid choosing from a list of ideas that all felt mediocre at best. In the end, we planned our own festival wedding. But, we were equipped with Amy’s Event Planner training and her experiences hosting events for clients.
Yet what what does the average couple do when they don’t want to have a traditional large wedding yet they don’t want to fly to an all inclusive resort?
